Chart of the Day: Buying vs. Renting
Plan Today. Protect Tomorrow. Attend an Educational Estate-Planning Seminar
Today’s Chart of the Day comes from re:venture in a discussion on Reddit. It's important to remember that the monthly cost to buy (yellow) is usually more than the cost to rent (blue), but a large difference between the two is not sustainable. Eventually, as people decide whether to rent or to buy, the cost to buy will have to decline, or the cost to rent will have to increase. The past is not predictor, but in the past, the cost to buy has been the one to correct.
