Today’s Chart from Torsten Sløk with Apollo shows that the number of families with children under the age of 18 peaked in 2007 at 37 million and has since declined to 33 million. 
 
Sløk explained, “Although the US population continues to grow each year.... This reflects demographic changes such as lower birth rates and aging of the population...”
