Today’s Chart of the Day is from the BLS (Bureau of Labor Statistics) and shows projected job openings from 2024-2034 for those with a bachelor’s degree.
 
According to the chart, the top occupation projected to have the greatest number of openings is operations managers, followed by registered nurses, then accountants.
 
Within the finance and banking industry, it's widely recognized that there is a critical shortage of new accountants entering into the field. I often joke with the younger generation, although with a serous undertone, that “if you never want to be unemployed, become an accountant.”
