Chart of the Day: US Makes 26% of Everything

Samuel A. Kiburz May 16, 2024
chart dated back to 2006 with US in black on the top

Today’s Chart of the Day is from the Wall Street Journal and shows the percentage of the World’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) provided by the largest countries over the last 20 years. The US is the largest at 26%, meaning we produce 26% of everything produced in the world. Of note is the loss from Europe from 30% to only 20%, and during that same time China grew from 5% to 17%.
