Today’s Chart of the Day from Investopedia's blog How Many Americans Work Past 65? Changing Retirement by the Numbers shows that roughly 20% of American’s Americans aged 65+ years remain in the workforce.
For some, continuing to work provides a sense of purpose, keeps them connected to a team or community, and offers the benefit of an additional income stream. For others, working past 65 may not be a choice, driven by rising living costs or the need for additional financial security.
Retirement is often a time to reflect on what matters most. Whether that means pursuing hobbies, volunteering, traveling, spending more time with family, or continuing to work, having something meaningful to retire to, rather than simply retiring from a job, can help create a more fulfilling and rewarding next chapter.
