Crews Bank names John A. Laurent Area President for Polk County

POLK COUNTY, Fla., Sept. 23, 2026 — Crews Bank & Trust has announced that John A. Laurent has been named Area President for the Polk County market. Laurent, who most recently served as commercial banker, has been promoted to the leadership role after nearly a decade of building business relationships and supporting customers across Polk County.

Since joining Crews Bank & Trust in January 2017 as a business banker, Laurent has played an important role in strengthening the Bank’s presence in Polk County. He became a commercial banker in October 2019 and has continued working alongside the Winter Haven and Lakeland teams to support the region’s growth goals with practical, relationship-first guidance.

“John’s promotion reflects his commitment to our customers, our teams and the communities we serve in Polk County,” said M.W. “Larry” McLaren IV, Chief Banking Officer for Crews Bank & Trust. “His varied background in banking, proven ability to learn, adapt and grow personally and professionally, along with his deep local roots, have readied him for this next step in his career.”

A seventh-generation Floridian born in Lakeland, Laurent attended Bartow Senior High School and earned a business administration degree in finance from the University of South Florida. He later graduated from Louisiana State University’s Graduate School of Banking.

Laurent is active in the community through his membership in the Winter Haven and Bartow chambers of commerce. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, watching college football and spending time outdoors.
