5% Pullbacks and Russia

Since 1927, the S&P 500 has experienced a pullback of five percent approximately every 70 trading days (about every 3 ½ months.)

Yes, some turn to corrections. But most do not.

In regards to the Russia-Ukraine issue, the average geopolitical event going all the way back to 1941 causes a 5% pullback, and takes 47 days to recover.

On a side note in case you were wondering, in regards to Russia, it ranks 11th in the world in Gross Domestic Product with $1.44 trillion. Less than Italy, Canada, and South Korea.
