Today’s Chart of the Day, shared by my colleague Jackson Garner, is from an article in The New York Times showing the change in the top employer (by industry) in each state from 1990 to 2024.
It is interesting to see how the economy has changed this over the past 34 years by moving toward services - particularly health care - while moving away from manufacturing and retail.
I will be interested to see this chart 34 years into the future as we integrate artificial intelligence and Optimus robots into our economy.
