Chart of the Day: Smartphones

Today we have two interesting charts from Bespoke.
The first, above, asks, “Do you own a smartphone?” with record breaking results of 97.2%. This shows that the industry has little room to sell to new customers.
The second, below, shows what is keeping the industry afloat: Upgrades. Due to higher initial quality, longer battery life, and the thought, “My old one pretty much does the same as the new one....” the holding period has increased to 66% of people holding phones more than two years.
