Today’s Chart of the Day from World Population Review highlights which U.S. states recognize Tenancy by the Entirety (TBE) as a form of asset titling.

TBE represents equal ownership of 100% between spouses (not 50/50), treating the couple as a single legal entity. As of 2024, TBE is an optional real estate arrangement that is available in 25 states, including Florida, and the District of Columbia.

This structure offers strong protection from creditors, particularly against the individual debts of either spouse. As a result, TBE can be a strategic and effective way to safeguard assets and is an important consideration in comprehensive estate planning.

Wealth strategists at Crews Bank & Trust work closely with clients to ensure asset titling aligns with their personalized estate plans and long-term objectives.
