Today’s Chart of the Day is from Bloomberg’s Billionaires Index, listing the 15 wealthiest individuals on the planet.

Many, if not all, names are recognizable, and their innovations shape our daily lives. Notably, 14 of the top 15 billionaires are from the United States and the top seven are all come from the technology industry.

Due to patent protections, lower regulations, and efficient capital markets, the United States takes the top spot as the technology hub of the world. As President Calvin Coolidge once said, “The business of America is business.”
