The Crews Bank and Trust Investment Management Team designs and manages portfolios to meet each client’s individual needs. Clients will receive high-quality personal service provided by a team of experienced professionals. Each client benefits from separately managed portfolios for Individual Management Accounts, Trust Accounts, Individual Retirement Accounts and Foundation Accounts.
The process begins with an assessment of the appropriate asset allocation for each client, which provides an investment strategy that balances risk and reward. This strategic investment analysis process takes into account the client’s individual goals, risk tolerance and time horizon. The portfolios are actively managed, diversified, monitored and measured relative to the markets. Through the use of separately managed accounts we are able to control capital gains and losses to maximize long-term tax efficiency.
The equity selection process focuses on prudent use of dividend-paying stocks and growth stocks in the portfolio for diversity and performance. We quantitatively screen companies for consistent earnings, cash flows, profit margins and debt levels and then qualitatively review the management teams and growth prospects. Portfolios will have 30-50 individual diversified holdings representing most S&P 500 industry sectors. The investment strategy may also include the use of Small-Cap, Mid-Cap and International equities usually through the use of indexes. Smaller sized accounts may utilize Exchange Traded Funds for diversification.
The fixed income selection process focuses on high-quality, investment-grade, intermediate-term bonds. We pay particular attention to the impact of duration and average-weighted maturity to control interest rate risk. In the tax exempt bond market we are careful to manage credit risk reviews for individual states, counties and municipalities.
We do not invest in Annuities, Unit Investment Trusts, Mutual Funds, Business Development Companies or Private Real Estate Investment Trusts. These tend to have hidden fees, confusing guarantees, surrender charges, tax inefficiencies and thin secondary markets.
Our overall performance is “outcome-based” and measured against the client’s unique goals and expectations. Our management fee is based upon the percentage of the assets under management and we do not charge commissions.
